THE FIRST DAY ACTIVITIES

After the welcoming speech by student Özlem DİNÇ, the opening ceremony started with a mini concert performed by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nilgün SAZAK the soloist, Lecturer Kazım Gürkan playing the tar., Res. Asst. Hacı Bekir KURŞUNET playing the piano. After the mini concert, the speeches were given by the rector of Sakarya University Prof. Dr. Muzaffer ELMAS and the project coordinator Assoc. Prof. Dr. Osman TİTREK. After the speeches, a project photograph including the deputy governor of Sakarya Akın YILMAZ, the SAU rector Prof. Dr. Muzaffer ELMAS, the dean of education faculty Prof. Dr. Firdevs KARAHAN, the dean of art and literature faculty Prof. Dr. Yılmaz DAŞÇIOĞLU, the director of science education institute Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ali Osman KURT, some senators of SAU and all the participating countries was taken. After then, the ceremony went on with a Traditional Turkish Handcrafts Exhibition by Lecturer Orhan ALTUĞ and a cocktail on behalf of the first day.

The first day program went on with a academic lecture about EU Citizenship and Democracy conducted by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Osman TİTREK. Within this lecture, the terms of citizenship, democracy, identity, multiculturalism, respect for diversity and equality were explained. During the class, these terms were discussed by all the participants. Some videos about multiculturalism and democracy were showed. At the end of the day, a social dinner was held.
