Universität Flensburg – Berufsbildungsinstitut Arbeit und Technik

The University of Flensburg was founded in 1994 and shares a large campus with the Flensburg School of Applied Sciences. Originally formed as a Teacherʼs Training College in 1946, the University now teaches Education Sciences as well as Business and Social Sciences. Due to cooperation with the University of Southern Denmark in Sonderborg, students are able to earn their BA and consecutive MA degrees in an international setting, which is unique in Europe.

The campus is located only 2km from the city centre and easy to reach by bike, bus, or even by foot. Designed to reflect the typical landscape of Schleswig-Holstein, the premises offer vast green spaces inviting students to spend their time between lectures. Courses take place in two spacious and modern buildings, one of which was only completed in 2010, as well as in the Audimax, an auditorium seating 300 students. The entire university is designed to be easily accessible for the handicapped and features elevators as well as electric door openers. Lecture rooms are equipped with new chairs and tables, whiteboards and data projectors. Each building also features a café where the friendly staff are happy to provide a quick pick-me-up in between lectures. Also located on campus are the library, the light-flooded cafeteria, a sports centre and a newly-buillt public swimming facility.
